00:00:40: So here we are in our twenty-twenty.

00:00:42: I did twenty-three million dollars in sales in Twenty-Twenty.

00:00:45: I thought life was amazing And then...I found everything that i got in the bank is frozen

00:00:54: Everything.

00:01:00: I'm so excited to get into this conversation with

00:01:03: you.

00:01:03: This is amazing, obviously You are a guest judge on sixty day hustle season two which is Amazing and you've built this whole empire with canvas beauty And i really want to dig Into all of it okay?

00:01:15: I Really Want To Get Into All Of It.

00:01:17: the Thing Is Before We Obviously Got The Cameras Up You Were Already Given The Juiciest Stories I was

00:01:23: like, I talk about this all the time.

00:01:26: Oh my gosh!

00:01:28: This is too good and it's so extraordinary.

00:01:49: When i came on set for sixty eight hustle... That was the most professional beautiful set ive ever been in.

00:02:02: I Feel like that About YOU.

00:02:04: Well thank you.

00:02:04: I appreciate

00:02:05: that.

00:02:05: Oh my god okay.

00:02:06: so let's start Because you know, the big headline here is Canvas Beauty Brands becoming an empire.

00:02:14: We know that it's amazing!

00:02:18: Numbers...you talked about on Six Day Hustle, fifty million in revenue last year which was like so amazing and all of this ground up.

00:02:25: You've built this thing.

00:02:26: now its scaling.

00:02:28: but take me back to the beginning.

00:02:29: I think It would be so amazing Like where this all started entrepreneurship for you.

00:02:35: What was your upbringing?

00:02:36: What inspired

00:02:36: us?

00:02:37: how far you want to go back?

00:02:38: You wanna go back back?

00:02:39: okay, here we go.

00:02:41: the year is two thousand eleven.

00:02:44: I um i Was in school.

00:02:46: I was an art major I was getting a BFA and painting And I was minoring.

00:02:49: infotography had twenty four credit hours left before graduation and truthfully I have start to feel very very depressed till The point Where I that can be just open.

00:02:59: yeah, I was like considering But deep down, you don't want to have these thoughts.

00:03:07: You don't wanna feel this way.

00:03:08: so one night I was just in the fight for my life literally and ended up picking out my Bible And it's like the only thing that I reached because everybody said they found solace there.

00:03:18: So let me try it!

00:03:21: I really wish i could but I do remember at very same night having a dream and woke up around three o'clock and whatever was on my brain, I just started writing it down.

00:03:32: And I wrote down Canvas.

00:03:33: I wrote Down Canvas Beauty!

00:03:36: My mission statement is a female's the perfect canvas she has to natural give for beauty.

00:03:40: her beauty can never be diminished only enhanced when you blossom or whatever she wants to be in.

00:03:45: that kind of.

00:03:45: took that as a prerequisite.

00:03:47: like that phase in life end up feeling really good i would say intuitively.

00:03:52: I knew I was going to leave college.

00:03:55: don't finish yeah go do whatever in your soul that you want to.

00:04:00: And at the time I wanted her hair, even though when i'm from it was so frowned upon like you're supposed to graduate You are supposed be a doctor.

00:04:08: You're supposed aspire to be a nurse.

00:04:10: You have something that's deemed successful.

00:04:13: and what im doing here is not that Like doing hair.

00:04:16: its like Ew.

00:04:20: You know?

00:04:20: But

00:04:20: like, when you say hair-like being a hairdresser... Yeah!

00:04:23: Oh okay!

00:04:23: And so that wasn't….

00:04:24: So now hairdressers are like stylists.

00:04:27: they're like celebrities ya'know they doing stuff.

00:04:31: but at the time of twenty eleven from a no stop light town called DeCat Mississippi That was not it.

00:04:38: It's not to move and I knew nobody would understand or resonate with it.

00:04:48: because if I didn't, that was the difference between me moving forward with excitement in the world or me no longer being in the real.

00:04:55: So I just jumped and then go back to school...I told my momma- I'm done!

00:05:01: I said I want to go to hair school cause at that point my logic is.. I got a year for graduate.

00:05:06: with these twenty four credit hours i need get from BFA Or I can spend one more year getting my certification to be a hairstylist and do this legally.

00:05:18: That's what I chose to do.

00:05:19: My mom and she call me a dumb bitch, She did it!

00:05:22: What?

00:05:22: What is that way?

00:05:23: Hold on hold up.

00:05:27: There are lots of unpacking.

00:05:29: Can we go back to the moment where you were contemplating taking your life?

00:05:33: Where was going on?

00:05:34: It was really bad.

00:05:35: I tried it.

00:05:36: whenever I tell this part, always try to go through a really fast so you don't take me back!

00:05:39: No no...I'm taking you back!

00:05:42: I don't like to

00:05:42: cry.

00:05:42: You know what?

00:05:43: A lot of people can relate that and actually see where are.

00:05:47: now is such powerful transformation.

00:05:50: So its very interesting for me.

00:05:53: First off all your even open enough talk about it but yeah were you going on?

00:06:01: went to the military right after high school.

00:06:03: That was something I wanted to do, um i actually want it to do military full-time but that wasn't something my mother wanted me or dad is a military.

00:06:13: they're both prime military and didn't agree with being in the military.

00:06:16: not understand why.

00:06:17: now you know?

00:06:18: But still didn't have my heart set on school.

00:06:21: Um...I've always been very bright, always been smart academically just had no passion to walk that stage.

00:06:29: I have no passion for doing it, growing up always wanted me dance and want to sing or act And my dad said you gotta be more realistic.

00:06:37: So every decision i began making as an adult or pre-adult was made out of what I told has been realistic.

00:06:45: Then when did wanna make a realistic decision for myself like stay in the military cause I used basic training so I can switch over now Nobody wanted me to do that in my family.

00:06:56: It was sort of point, My mom actually had my college schedule made for Me before I even got home.

00:07:00: so going To College wasn't my choice Even though That is the path to success.

00:07:05: it just i'd never Identified with.

00:07:08: yeah But here?

00:07:09: I Was doing it and The closer I Got to graduating the more the reality Of you Never Signed Up For This.

00:07:16: With Sitting on me.

00:07:17: It's like, I never wanted to do this.

00:07:19: And what was supposed to come?

00:07:22: is my mom always gonna give me a job at the school that she taught in and i was going be an art teacher?

00:07:27: That wasn't when I said I want it too!

00:07:29: And I hadn't even given myself time for process.

00:07:33: Stormy What Do You Want To Do?

00:07:34: Cause'I Hadn't Live Life On My Own Terms Yet?

00:07:37: So In The Space Of Knowing I Got One Year Love.

00:07:41: And is this game of school, this freedom of flowing it's over?

00:07:47: It started to be really heavy and I starting get depressed.

00:07:50: Because i couldn't see a weight out.

00:07:54: that was for me.

00:07:56: so...I just didn't want to get to the point.

00:07:59: So my brain was like..just end now Just because there no use.

00:08:03: You don't wanna do this but you also dont know what u wanna do.

00:08:07: This ain't in either Like.

00:08:08: why am I here?

00:08:10: And that's kind of how deep I was in it and the why.

00:08:15: Wow, my God!

00:08:16: So you had this like Divinant Intervention moment which is so amazing.

00:08:22: You said actually you came to your dream and then the vision statement.

00:08:27: everything was in a dream?

00:08:28: Yeah Then you told mom about.

00:08:31: her response wasn't what you expected.

00:08:34: Oh, okay.

00:08:35: Okay so that's like the relationship you had with your mom?

00:08:38: Yeah

00:08:38: I knew nobody was going to understand but i think i had got to a point where i didn't care because im just trying to survive You know?

00:08:45: Im just trying feel good That's it.

00:08:47: My god, I'm so proud of you that you went for because there is a lot like if your whole life You're being told you know?

00:08:52: You supposed to do a certain thing and that's the only example you have And you just like broke out of it.

00:08:56: Yeah i feel Like that divine intervention moment.

00:08:57: was God talking To you.

00:08:59: truly yeah and that Is amazing.

00:09:01: then you stepped in and It's also like Your purpose is So big!

00:09:05: That-that's why you felt so Caged up and ready to Just end.

00:09:08: but But you've made A choice and thats so Amazing.

00:09:11: im so so so proud Of you that its so beautiful.

00:09:14: Thankyou into, you get this dream.

00:09:17: You got this vision.

00:09:18: then what?

00:09:18: How long was it before you actually started jumping in to the

00:09:21: business?".

00:09:21: So a cool thing about is that around summer time so I wasn't just in summer school and had to make my choice back in August I spent practicing doing like sew-ins and doing people's hair.

00:09:36: I would call them saying, hey can you do your hair?

00:09:37: And it was just something to keep my mind occupied, keep my hands busy and keep me creative.

00:09:42: I've always been a creative.

00:09:43: that is why i ended up doing art per school.

00:09:45: You know

00:09:47: It makes sense by the way with brand names of everything.

00:09:49: That's amazing!

00:09:50: You're an

00:09:52: artist.

00:09:52: After that...I enrolled in hair schools so started Hair School In August And it was not my journey, still wasn't linear.

00:10:01: It was like you think I'm where am supposed to be?

00:10:04: But here I am, I was in hair school and just felt like...I've always felt too big for where I was mentally Like every competition that we would have- I want an internet but also one of the hair schools either were there's a thing.

00:10:21: so I went into first place.

00:10:25: Oh, this is so fucked up for me to say.

00:10:30: I feel like i come from a place where mediocrity is celebrated and if you try to push the envelope on that You're made to feel like something's wrong with you.

00:10:41: Wow!

00:10:41: I don't wanna cry.

00:10:45: No no it's amazing.

00:10:47: So I grew up like that And...I even felt that in hair school.

00:10:52: It was at a point when..I'm in school and am like- I dont want be here But I need graduate right?

00:10:59: And I was like, God just give me a sign.

00:11:00: I'm not supposed to be here?

00:11:01: Just let me

00:11:01: know.".

00:11:01: Me and my dad.

00:11:04: we never get into it.

00:11:06: We got into about my car note which is so crazy for the four hundred dollar car note...and i was like daddy!

00:11:12: I paid the car note.

00:11:13: he's like you didn't pay your car

00:11:13: note!!

00:11:14: Yes I

00:11:14: did!!!

00:11:15: I have another four hundred dollars to give him.

00:11:17: So I was paying that car note....and then..we ended up getting in really bad and there were one of those arguments where almost no coming back from ...and leaving my parents house and I moved to Huntsville, Alabama where I currently reside.

00:11:32: And it was like sink or swim?

00:11:34: I didn't...I went on Huntsfield no money.

00:11:36: that had eight hundred dollars No hair school license.

00:11:40: So i'm out here just winging it!

00:11:42: And I was like Imma work at Walmart!

00:11:44: I was fine imma figure it out Did

00:11:46: you?!

00:11:46: NO!

00:11:49: I did it because when I got there my husband his uncle was like oh he's the barber.

00:11:55: He said she wanna do a hair.

00:11:56: well in alabama You don't have to have a license, you do hair.

00:12:01: And if you didn't finish school... ...you can work under a master stylist as an apprentice and get your license that

00:12:08: way.".

00:12:10: He was like.

00:12:10: I know someone who is a master stylist!

00:12:13: Imma introduce them.

00:12:14: so week one in Huntsville.. ..I got the chance meet a master style- Who could let me work at her salon for hours there to become a stylist.

00:12:28: And I remember, went to the thrift store and got me a little outfit.

00:12:37: When I handed her my portfolio, like... Her brain was like oh shit!

00:12:45: Like she can actually do hair.

00:12:47: She could do because i was really good at doing like sew-ins and they were coveted at the time.

00:12:51: And shes like how much did you charge?

00:12:53: I said I charged seventy five dollars.

00:12:54: that's so proud cause back in home when im done with the map if i charge..I'd do four heads a day.

00:12:59: That's three hundred dollars!

00:13:01: I would do it every day You know?

00:13:03: So Im already doing my math and shes saying no you don't.

00:13:05: Shes say you charged one seventy five And I was like yes you do.

00:13:12: Second week in Huntsville, I started working her some line.

00:13:15: I started hustling and got on the computer...I made flyers from scratch so i'm just figuring it out in Microsoft Word!

00:13:21: That was a program at that time.

00:13:23: And then I put them on people's cars and said you know what?

00:13:27: What is not normal?

00:13:29: I said Stormy You have to go on Facebook and be friend with every single girl in Huntsville, Alabama and you need to get her DMs.

00:13:36: And I started sending my flyer into the DM and i was like hi!

00:13:41: Im such a such im new here..I work here...and ummm....i would love for your come by.

00:13:45: I'd love do your hair for free and da-da-da.

00:13:47: And then I started asking my husband who are all of popular girls here?

00:13:52: And I just started getting them in the salon so that every time somebody came in , I did their best work they could do when they left .

00:13:58: The clients start coming in.

00:14:00: So I immediately ...here am on month one ..im in huntsville alamama College dropout hair school drop out.

00:14:08: Yeah, but right where I need to be and I'm getting appointments back-to-back And I'm doing sixteen hour days.

00:14:14: I'm making four thousand dollars some weeks You know?

00:14:17: It's amazing.

00:14:18: But here's the kicker that same salon that I was in.

00:14:22: I had to give her forty percent of my earnings um and did it for like a year or a year and a half and I ended up from there.

00:14:35: I'm telling you, my journey's crazy.

00:14:37: I can keep going.

00:14:38: Yeah!

00:14:40: So once again here i am like this isn't okay?

00:14:44: Like...I started to feel and love this lady to death-like..I loved her.

00:14:47: she'll forever be grateful for it.

00:14:50: but me being so young and vibrant in her salon doing something that ummm....she didn't do.

00:14:58: yeah It was almost as if I became her like she owned my talent, you know?

00:15:03: And it was like I was finding the heart to get out of that.

00:15:05: That's so interesting!

00:15:06: Yeah So you were feeling like in a cage

00:15:09: once again and then iI was supposed be here because I used to have conversations with her.

00:15:16: I'd say Like I never want to leave ,i wanna Be Here You Know.

00:15:19: She would tell me no your gonna be bigger than this.

00:15:21: but It just got To The point where that time Was there and it was trying.

00:15:28: My license became like a struggle

00:15:30: now.

00:15:31: Yeah,

00:15:31: the close down I am to it and i was Like just saying right?

00:15:37: Now remember somebody calling me one time they won an appointment.

00:15:40: They had lost the family member.

00:15:42: I wasn't allowed to do hair outside of this line And they couldn't come to this line get their hair done because he had a child.

00:15:48: kids could be in this line.

00:15:49: I was the only other stylist there at that time too and I remembered you know, telling it like I really contemplated this.

00:15:56: I felt real bad and was like number one i want the money but number two she really need her hair done.

00:16:02: yeah let me call you back see what can do tomorrow.

00:16:04: And I sat on and said stormy im going to do a right thing.

00:16:07: so...I did the right things.

00:16:08: here I am went to work told that I couldn't do my hair turns out..she knew the ladies who owned this salon.

00:16:14: She Knew Her Cousin!

00:16:16: and her cousin was getting her hair down that day and her cousin was like Stormy.

00:16:20: Im shocked to see you here.

00:16:21: I remember this like it was yesterday, cause its kinda crazy.

00:16:24: Cause this-this what's the catalysts Like.

00:16:26: This is a really big turning point in my career.

00:16:28: She said Stormy um Really shocked to see you here!

00:16:31: This is her cousin.

00:16:33: I say why?

00:16:34: She says i just didn't think that she would be here today.

00:16:36: And I was like Why don't ya think over there?

00:16:38: You know My brain is like What's going on?

00:16:41: and The lady who owns the salon She said whats goin' on?

00:16:45: Like what is it?

00:16:46: I'm gonna let her tell you Cause at this point It's click.

00:16:48: Oh you know I considered

00:16:50: Yeah, yeah.

00:16:50: Your

00:16:51: hair.

00:16:51: and then she was like oh StormyDXYZ.

00:16:55: And then she said something to me and I was like that's not true.

00:16:59: She says something.

00:17:04: so now it still got a little tamper on when i want one But back man!

00:17:08: It wasn't the time for me to have one You know?

00:17:10: This meek-and-mild creature in this salon Like yes ma'am no ma'aam.

00:17:15: Then...she said something..I can remember what I say but snapped Because I felt like she was snitching on me while also trying to paint out something.

00:17:23: that wasn't because here i am.

00:17:24: You did the right thing, yeah!

00:17:27: And I remember saying something offensive...I said um can I curse?

00:17:33: Yeah!

00:17:33: I say bitch you know?

00:17:36: Oh my god you said it with feelings!

00:17:37: She's like bitch

00:17:39: and she was like

00:17:40: they both said who are you talking to?

00:17:41: I stopped talking to her bitch in your chair.

00:17:44: What's up, you know?

00:17:45: And then that was like oh!

00:17:46: You can get out of here.

00:17:47: I was like you

00:17:47: know what i'm actually going to leave but im not coming back.

00:17:50: Yeah

00:17:50: and I started packing my stuff up...and maybe Im being too candid.

00:17:56: Maybe.

00:17:56: Have a good, good.

00:17:59: I started packin' my stuffs up

00:18:00: now..I was like God has smiled on me.

00:18:04: You know I am packing all my stuff and at this point they are like oh shit she is crazy right?

00:18:10: She is crazy.

00:18:14: I sat in the car and said, what the fuck?

00:18:17: And i just cried.

00:18:18: I had no plan B but...I snapped.

00:18:25: I called my daddy The person who landed me at Huntsville.

00:18:28: he was my first-person call.

00:18:30: I called him and said He said Okay!

00:18:34: What

00:18:35: happened?!

00:18:35: I told them what happend and they were like No!

00:18:36: What are you doing right now?

00:18:38: I said I'm sitting on a car crying and got nowhere to go.

00:18:41: You guys have some hair to do it then?

00:18:44: He said, you gonna go home.

00:18:45: You're going to do them people's heads and when your done... ...you'll get in a car that you are not calling back.

00:18:50: so have the old place.

00:18:56: And thats what I did The moment i got my own place All of this money That was given away for forty percent.

00:19:04: I could retain it And started to grow.

00:19:07: Come on now.

00:19:09: Oh my god, you know what's so interesting?

00:19:11: While

00:19:11: he crying.

00:19:12: It is so interesting to hear like your relationship with your dad as well because while...to some degree..he was kind of holding your wings down a bit Because that all he knew.

00:19:24: He also has been a supporter Which is amazing and a catalyst for you Like.

00:19:28: That Is So Amazing

00:19:33: And

00:19:33: How Interesting.

00:19:34: But You Didn't Have A Plan but You Still Went For it.

00:19:36: I think alot Of People Stay in an environment that they've grown out of

00:19:40: already.

00:19:41: A constant for me was like, I knew...I always knew when i was done.

00:19:46: yeah..i always knew the moment had expired.

00:19:49: but when i didn't move on that intuition That's when i had to find out the hard way or go through something so adverse that i have no other choice.

00:20:01: But make a change and think thats power.

00:20:03: When they say you gotta get comfortable being uncomfortable if u wanna grow Nothing great comes in comfort zones and every time I knew i was supposed to do something different.

00:20:11: I would choose To be comfortable And then choosing to be comfortable, I was going down the

00:20:16: wrong road.

00:20:16: Yeah

00:20:17: In a moment where being comfortable is no longer an option That's the moment like everything for me started to just elevate yeah?

00:20:24: Like that has been like A thread and a consistent my whole story.

00:20:28: yeah even after success it was always You just, you don't strive to be comfortable.

00:20:35: You strive to test and you strive to bend And you strive too-to be great in who God called you To Be!

00:20:42: When you stop doing that That's when if your person like me That when an idol needs come in That is where we start to have...That Is Where We Get In The Wrong Place.

00:20:50: Yeah So

00:20:51: A hundred percent I think thats the unknown And and that's why you're meant to do everything.

00:20:56: That your doing right now.

00:20:57: I always say like, i love playing in this arena of the unknown.

00:21:00: thats where The magic happens as well.

00:21:03: Greatness happens As we can kind of really step into thing.

00:21:06: You don't even know that were capable because it hasn't been done before.

00:21:09: Yeah It is so beautiful To hear you just naturally Nobody taught you This Thats who are Its?

00:21:17: Who Were Meant to be So its so Beautiful To Hear You Talk About That.

00:21:21: So you had canvas beauty In Your Heart And in your dream already.

00:21:26: and then you went to this salon, and you're doing hair.

00:21:30: At what point did you actually start the product?

00:21:33: In the brand.

00:21:34: so that's one it does.

00:21:35: I said That's when I got You know my wings a little bit at that point.

00:21:39: I was in my own salon here.

00:21:40: I am Actually saving money right from the work that I do and I knew how to save because i had work with forty percent less, you know?

00:21:47: Yeah.

00:21:48: And that's when

00:21:49: every... Oh what a teacher right there!

00:21:50: The

00:21:51: fact that you were making money having to give that forty percent.

00:21:53: then your like wait..I'd know how operate the forty-percent less yeah interesting.

00:21:58: so automatically became this master saver.

00:22:01: now when ive ideas have enough resources

00:22:04: act on them.

00:22:07: was known for extensions and wigs, you know doing protective styles.

00:22:13: And a lot of women would come in my chair for that...and they were always trying to cover up something.

00:22:16: They're always trying hide something.

00:22:18: I was like You Know

00:22:19: what?

00:22:24: Proprietary to this experience of being here.

00:22:26: Why that can actually help them?

00:22:28: Yeah, they had traction alopecia Alopecia.

00:22:30: It was like so many things That they've done or had done to their hair where it wasn't Like in there glory.

00:22:36: They couldn't just thrive and their hair And I was like is one thing to cover this up But i want to help it.

00:22:41: at the same time and I got so obsessed with a desire To do that that III was like I want to make uh A hair growth product and I pulled out all my books from school.

00:22:50: yeah,

00:22:51: and it was.

00:22:52: I don't think it's by coincidence.

00:22:53: One of my favorite phases or chapters in school was learning about the way hair grows, like different phases and states of hair growth And i started to just obsess over that read study all night till a point where once again im going to sleep and having dreams about ingredients.

00:23:08: I'd wake up not be like oh what is this for?

00:23:10: What can you do with your hair?

00:23:11: Then when we got into kitchen Im starting making different products.

00:23:14: I started learning about ways to infuse ingredients together because its one thing First off, like when it comes to hair growth.

00:23:22: It's always going start from within.

00:23:24: you can do topical things and those topical Things Can help in aid?

00:23:28: In the growth but not the retention right.

00:23:31: so I was so enamored with that That i'm looking at ingredients.

00:23:35: i'm Looking At a fusion process until The point where i had mixed the oil together And i was like no this ain't it?

00:23:40: and then i Was Like putting an oven and i know if This

00:23:44: one is of what like intuition

00:23:46: And that's like research too.

00:23:49: So I'm researching, and okay in order for all of these ingredients to actually chemically merge into each other they have go through an infusion process.

00:23:59: it is not enough just put the oils together because i would use the ingredients biotin cayenne pepper MSM right?

00:24:06: Cayenne pepper acts as a hair follicle stimulant when you touch your scalp promotes blood flow to the scalp, which can produce like rapid hair growth.

00:24:19: So you can't put a solid in an oil.

00:24:23: it had too be infused.

00:24:24: so I started baking oils literally in the oven and then making them for lack of better word i'd say testers.

00:24:34: Yeah your clients yeah!

00:24:35: And im curious about when you're creating product having that feedback loop.

00:24:39: I'm sure it takes a bit long to get that feedback with the hair growth.

00:24:43: How long was it taking for you?

00:24:44: To see like this is working

00:24:45: about three months,

00:24:46: okay That's actually

00:24:47: not bad right.

00:24:48: so all my clients are like.

00:24:49: i made This.

00:24:50: i was like mind if i try doing your hair in mind If i take before and after pictures All of them like sure yeah And i started doing It.

00:24:55: and women who hadn't had anything Like they start to See like follicles like

00:25:01: pop back up like fuzzies

00:25:02: and we were Documenting it and i had like The the.

00:25:05: the pictures fall into process and then They started seeing it and there Was like.

00:25:10: I told my friend about it.

00:25:11: It was like, I tell him a friend and they want some but I don't sell it right?

00:25:15: Cause this is supposed to be proprietary to my salon experience.

00:25:18: you know that's

00:25:19: what i got.

00:25:20: So this almost added value for your salon.

00:25:22: You weren't thinking of selling as something you'd be

00:25:23: selling.

00:25:24: Not at all Interesting!

00:25:26: It got till the point where these women... cause I've been doing alot of clients today Like I'm probably doing around ten clients.

00:25:34: They were telling their friends and they're friends are tellin' them friends, And then got the pictures.

00:25:38: Then like hey my friend want it.

00:25:40: I was like you know what?

00:25:41: I'll do make me a small batch that out.

00:25:43: i'm gonna put It up on um Facebook facebook when we go to play.

00:25:47: yeah, I made two hundred bottles at I wanna say cost about three hundred fifty dollars.

00:25:53: Two hundred mm-hmm.

00:25:54: I sold Adam in The first night.

00:25:57: Well, did you have like a Facebook group because of your salon?

00:26:01: Like how'd that happen.

00:26:02: This was twenty fifteen and everything I'm doing is just on facebook.

00:26:05: I post my work on facebook on my personal page.

00:26:08: So

00:26:08: just straight up organic facebook.

00:26:09: people who follow me they see it

00:26:10: in their buying.

00:26:11: Yeah when i put the before and after pictures of them And I told y'all story about this My clients love it.

00:26:17: People want to buy it.

00:26:18: I got two hundred bottles.

00:26:20: two hundred bottles sold out, thirty-five dollars a pop first day.

00:26:23: Amazing!

00:26:24: And it got to the point where this is twenty fifteen people were asking for and I made it sporadically from twenty fifteen till twenty eighteen...and..I was like....I couldn't do both.

00:26:35: yeah

00:26:35: so the sure money which was doing hair selling hair extensions yes It's what i went for.

00:26:44: here we go again right?

00:26:45: Yeah its time to accept I'm not supposed

00:26:46: to be here no more I knew it.

00:26:50: I need to, I should take the jump and like focus on these products.

00:26:54: Cause that's when my new passion was.

00:26:56: but I was making good money as a hairstylist But i still had do hair Like.

00:27:01: if I didn't then probably have two months of surviving without doing hair.

00:27:07: And...I was scared!

00:27:10: And..I had really bad salon experience.

00:27:13: I had gun pulled out on me.

00:27:15: What?

00:27:16: Yeah....and it was

00:27:18: hmmmm

00:27:20: It was, I want to say it was late-twenty sixteen and this happened.

00:27:25: And...it was right after me saying that I know I'm supposed be focusing on my hair care but I gotta do a hair!

00:27:32: Girl put out a gun at me.

00:27:33: the story went viral in social media.

00:27:35: all these like T groups around the city..and....I had my first hundred thousand dollar month after

00:27:42: that.

00:27:42: Wow!

00:27:43: Yeah because it's like the backstory is.

00:27:46: she said oh She brought her own extensions to the appointment, but I put my extension in her head.

00:27:52: That's why she pulled out a gun?

00:27:53: Yeah and i got bad hair...I had bad hair!

00:27:56: She had good hair because she sold hair too.

00:27:58: oh my god.

00:27:59: so

00:27:59: it was like this whole narrative To promote her hairline.

00:28:03: But then people saw the story came on my page And they said uh-uh that was like she don't even look Like she'll do that.

00:28:10: I want to buy her extensions.

00:28:12: So I ended up selling.

00:28:15: I had a six-figure month selling hair extensions only online.

00:28:19: Oh my god, is it you know one of the things that's so fascinating for me about Your connection?

00:28:24: I feel like what I would call connections to source.

00:28:26: Connections are like your higher self to God.

00:28:28: You know whatever people believe in.

00:28:30: Is you get very clear signals?

00:28:32: yeah number one you already know from your intuition Like its time to expand.

00:28:36: yep but i also Feel The way the universe has conspired for you.

00:28:42: it is not going to let You stay comfortable.

00:28:44: No, I think we had that altercation at the first line.

00:28:46: Then you have this gun pulled out on your.

00:28:47: it's like very Very clear signs and on top of that you're getting.

00:28:51: you are getting Direction in Your dreams which Is so interesting?

00:28:56: You also brought up That you In your dream kind Of saw some of that Like recipe For the hair growth.

00:29:01: is that a common theme for you?

00:29:02: do you listen To your intuition?

00:29:04: no i definitely knew what did

00:29:06: you?

00:29:06: oh wait because actually So intuition is very interesting because I think it's really, It's really interesting to get signals and then feel muddied.

00:29:15: Like Is that my mind?

00:29:17: Is it my intuition?

00:29:18: do you feel like Very clear when you got a gut feeling?

00:29:22: now i do okay

00:29:23: back.

00:29:23: Then I didn't hmmm...I didn't know what it was!

00:29:26: I Didn't Know That There Was A Thing.

00:29:28: Yeah..i didn't Know that it was a power or thing until I started to see the results of not acting in it and acting.

00:29:38: Then, I started get more confident.

00:29:41: what i had inside me like that intuitiveness...I start to get comfortable with it And then ,i started to trust It.

00:29:48: so now twenty-twenty six..i move In it.

00:29:51: yeah....i Trust Me because i've seen What Happened When i don't.

00:29:55: Yeah.

00:29:55: So

00:29:55: when you got a dream or when You Get That voice Inside?

00:29:57: When do you get that feeling?

00:29:58: You just you act fast.

00:30:00: That's amazing.

00:30:01: Yeah, I feel like you're so connected and i think that your journey has been these leaps of faith.

00:30:07: It's not little tiptoes in faith.

00:30:09: it is You have to leap!

00:30:10: And then make it through on the other side Again...I think thats because Of Your Purpose But I also think its Because You Have Like That Grit To Make It Happen Like You're Gonna Figure It Out Like Sink or Swim.

00:30:21: You're gonna Make It happen And Thats Kind Of Carrying You Through This Whole Thing.

00:30:27: So Lets Jump Into the path from starting this first product to when you started to make some significant money and then we're gonna get into live selling.

00:30:37: Got it, I'ma go through these quickly.

00:30:39: so...

00:30:39: But don't

00:30:41: leave after that point with a gun situation.

00:30:44: i started to realize like all just because something bad happened in your domain is bad yeah Like It could be really good Yeah.

00:30:51: And Then I kept doing hair.

00:30:54: I pushed thru what was like but also done.

00:30:57: I was like mentally didn't want to physically be behind that chair anymore.

00:31:00: That moment took a part of me, it did when they came into my love and passion for doing hair.

00:31:06: Good gun

00:31:06: moment?

00:31:07: Yeah!

00:31:07: Okay

00:31:08: yeah.

00:31:08: And then i ended up taking the trip in New York in twenty eighteen... ...I'd never been to new york before.. ..and It's so imperative that had a balcony.

00:31:14: I said wherever I say I wanna balcony because.... I wanna see

00:31:17: it!!

00:31:17: And now im sitting on this balcony looking at it and oh my god somebody..... or people, this vision of New York was a thing.

00:31:24: It's like I felt something...I felt heartbeat and I feel inspired!

00:31:29: And that was when in August twenty-eighteen, I'll never forget it, August eleven, I quit doing hair.

00:31:37: I had booked up three months out.

00:31:38: I cancelled every appointment that I have.

00:31:40: I went home.. I made me website myself by standing the bed and did it.... I launched that website with one blossom serum on the fifteenth of august and very first month, first thirty days.

00:31:52: And I had done almost fifty thousand in sales.

00:31:55: Whoa!

00:31:56: The first month?

00:31:56: First month...and then um..I used to wake up when i use the study ,i make a post and go on my website like damn how much traffic did that post drive?

00:32:04: because it was my unit of measure.

00:32:06: .And I would studied at and started doing these Facebook competitions where if you share mine posts im gonna pick three winners to get me bottle or other product right ?

00:32:16: And I have this.

00:32:16: ...I had uh.

00:32:17: ..a post that has like one hundred before and after is in it, that post ended up having about like thirty thousand shares.

00:32:23: After the course of a year because I kept doing this every day.

00:32:26: Share today!

00:32:27: And i get three bottles away everyday... ...and had to keep my numbers you know be over fifteen hundred Dollars a day in sales to like.

00:32:36: just keep growing and I would just do that.

00:32:38: And then it got to the point where here.

00:32:39: It is twenty nineteen I'm about to reset a year's gonna be another August of August, and at this point was October and I said you're on track To do the same thing you did last your or less Stormy.

00:32:49: what are you going to different?

00:32:51: You gotta Do something different only knew What i knew and Then i started to Just Look at other areas opportunity.

00:32:57: I was like, okay?

00:32:57: I see people posting in the shade room.

00:32:59: How do they do this you know?

00:33:01: and I figured out how to get a post in the sharing room.

00:33:02: I paid twenty five hundred dollars at the time for a post-shade room might be mad as hell because there's no charge at all.

00:33:07: um And that post brought in twenty K and I said oh my god.

00:33:11: I found it.

00:33:12: I found my jackpot.

00:33:13: I did it again.

00:33:13: That next post bought in fourteen thousand mm-hmm.

00:33:16: Did it again brought in zero dollars?

00:33:18: Okay,

00:33:19: and I was crushed cuz I said That ain't the fucking answer.

00:33:24: And I knew it was the answer because there's twenty K and that post also came with like, It was a high in end of the comments on their third pose.

00:33:35: I'm like how did he go from here to hear?

00:33:37: But got people in my inbox, and this marketing company had reached out to me.

00:33:42: And they was like hey yo we saw your video on the Shade Room!

00:33:45: We offer advertising services for paid media...and I didn't even know what paid media was

00:33:49: at the time.

00:33:50: Yeah it's

00:33:50: so early-on.

00:33:50: I ain't done nothing about ads.

00:33:53: They said that we charged thirty five hundred dollars a month.

00:33:55: So here am i?

00:33:55: Well hell I just gave Shade room twenty five hundred to make zero.

00:33:58: Guess I can lose thirty five hundre a month you know..And did it?

00:34:02: ummm....I have a video that made in twenty seventeen with hope of going viral.

00:34:05: It did not.

00:34:06: They put fifteen hundred dollars behind that video, and the video brought me in fifteen thousand.

00:34:12: And one day... And they did it again!

00:34:14: Okay?

00:34:14: That became a consistent thingy.

00:34:17: Yes!

00:34:17: October twenty nineteen I did my no eight hundred thousand dollars in sales.

00:34:22: i went from fifty thousand dollars a month to eight hundred and thousand dollars In sales.

00:34:55: every single thing Lost a lot Of course because you know didn't really real time but also they won slow down.

00:35:02: cuz i'm like.

00:35:02: i pray for this.

00:35:03: i was Like I brave it is and that's where this art background come into place.

00:35:08: I had the ability to make ads that would convert.

00:35:11: Okay, okay.

00:35:14: So

00:35:14: what was about the ads?

00:35:17: That you feel like was converting.

00:35:18: so well your personality The storytelling interesting

00:35:25: and I kept making the ads then.

00:35:28: They kept converting- And this is just

00:35:29: you, your face?

00:35:30: You're okay!

00:35:31: Yup so here we are in twenty-twenty...I did twenty three million dollars in sales in twenty twenty.

00:35:37: So twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen one million, twenty twenty it's twenty three millions.

00:35:41: I thought life was amazing.

00:35:43: I was like..I won life at that point.

00:35:46: That was a winner.

00:35:47: yeah....and then i wanted to do everything that I ever wanted.

00:35:52: One of my dream car, one of my dreams house.

00:35:54: I ended up doing IVF and it landed me on bed risk.

00:35:59: And everything I built, I trusted to the people who I'd built because I couldn't do it.

00:36:04: I legitimately was in bed risk for the first six months of my pregnancy cause that's high-risk.

00:36:09: Um...I had a sub chronic hemorrhage.

00:36:11: I have brought in a CFO at the time um didn't know him one about my paid media.

00:36:17: guys brought them here he ended up signing by name on some MCAs merchant cash advances.

00:36:24: they exceptionally high interest.

00:36:26: I'm thinking, i'm getting grants and free money!

00:36:29: And we got like nine hundred thousand dollars in funding of which we had to pay two point seven million back.

00:36:33: my company had paid one point one million back at the time that I found out about that being done.

00:36:39: so you didn't even know all this was happening underneath?

00:36:41: No...I

00:36:42: don't know.. I've found out twenty-twenty-two ...i am sitting ummm....in my backyard ..and no i'm sorry.

00:36:49: yeah twenty-Twenty-Two ....i send them.

00:36:51: a backyard is June and I got a call from my distributor, because i was in retail at the time.

00:36:56: My products had made their way all the way to Sally's Target, Walmart

00:36:59: etc.,

00:37:00: And um...my distributor said hey we just got this letter!

00:37:05: It was uh..a judgment saying that oh you can't give her the funds if they go into MCA company.

00:37:14: Same time....I've never heard of it before.

00:37:16: same time I find out everything that I get on the bank is frozen everything.

00:37:23: Now, I was

00:37:25: like a little

00:37:27: over a million but it wasn't mine anymore and had nothing!

00:37:31: And i was one of the people.

00:37:32: transparently...I didn't operate myself outside of the business.

00:37:37: so what I have there is that's where I am in the middle June.

00:37:43: twenty-twenty two with nothing at all.

00:37:47: And I sat in silence, and I stared at space.

00:37:50: What the fuck?

00:37:51: I ended up calling my lawyer.

00:37:52: he was showing me a judgment.

00:37:54: so they got this judgement In New York.

00:37:56: You know when it served to the warehouse.

00:37:58: It was signed for but you didn't get it.

00:38:00: So...it's already a thing..and i was like what the fuck am i gonna do?

00:38:06: Like nothing!

00:38:07: And then i stayed there for hours.

00:38:10: Snap out of my brain started like sobbing a million puzzles at one time.

00:38:13: It's like so many.

00:38:14: what do you have to work with?

00:38:15: I'm a firm believer up You don't had to have a lot resources, you gotta learn how be resourceful

00:38:19: yes.

00:38:20: So my brain said you still have a website people still buying right now.

00:38:26: What you can do Start new entity get your new merchant process or get that money That's coming in right now and just day by day that shit whoa.

00:38:35: And i did it for you got

00:38:36: yourself out of that.

00:38:37: yeah with sales

00:38:39: But I was running on E. It's like, it was old people stuff.

00:38:44: Like I got old AMEX but I didn't have it so a lot of.

00:38:48: then i started getting lawsuits for shit that was legitimate because I couldn't really pay stuff That are really needed to be cause what I had is gone.

00:38:56: So and in the end its gone but wasn't enough.

00:38:58: cover it And then trying go back and be retroactive still there day-to-day hustle grind.

00:39:09: I was like, I didn't sleep!

00:39:10: Twenty twenty till the twenty twenty three...I didn't

00:42:48: It's

00:42:49: right here.

00:42:50: And

00:42:50: then shockingly normally it takes like thirty days but they saw my store or they saw me on the page doing something and stayed in there for two weeks to let my store be open.

00:43:02: Boom immediately!

00:43:03: Thirty thousand holidays, forty thousand holidays... And this is August.

00:43:08: by the time i got into September i was back up a million from nothing.

00:43:13: You had paid all

00:43:14: that stuff out?

00:43:15: Not yet, okay not yet I have to keep going.

00:43:18: but i was hustling and by the time like I got to um twenty-twenty four everything I cleared it up a lot called my attorney yeah ready pay everything off.

00:43:29: so I ended up paying about two point five million dollars in debt off.

00:43:33: wow yep something

00:43:35: you didn't even sign on for Zing.

00:43:39: Okay, we talk because you're a live selling journey is like nobody else's.

00:43:45: yeah Let's take

00:43:46: me to

00:43:47: the moment where you get invited To tiktok and this is still very new world for you.

00:43:52: And then your battle off with Jeffree star?

00:43:55: Yep

00:43:57: I went viral.

00:43:58: August twenty-twenty three.

00:44:00: by April twenty twenty four i got invited to be The first person to have A you know, mega livestream or like a set produced live stream at TikTok headquarters.

00:44:12: I didn't know it at this time but i was part of their Alpha program.

00:44:14: that were looking for the first million dollar seller

00:44:17: Because at that point you were hitting the thirty-forty or what was your like high?

00:44:21: I would have on my two million dollar month just from a store.

00:44:24: Okay,

00:44:24: okay

00:44:25: And i had went live before and they did like one hundred fifty thousand online You know with no knowledge No Know anything.

00:44:31: so They had identified me as strong potential player to be somebody who can have a million dollars stream With their with their help, what they're coaching so to say or what the backing you know.

00:44:42: that was like hey come here this is a studio.

00:44:45: we gonna put you in set designer and do whatever you want.

00:44:47: It's just like a studio audience.

00:44:48: I feel like I got a glaze show.

00:44:52: oh my god it's body glaze yes!

00:44:55: And then y'know when did the set came up?

00:44:57: I wanted to be like a bakery because all of these scents cameras in the ceiling never seen that shit before.

00:45:04: Oh, wow.

00:45:05: You know?

00:45:05: And it's like... Wow!

00:45:07: I felt away and was so excited.

00:45:09: Remember not sleeping that night when I put my whole little shebang together- I knew how to pace through the set but then.. But i didn't know.

00:45:18: So here's the thing, they were looking for a million dollar live seller.

00:45:20: I just didn't know it at that time.

00:45:22: I thought this was huge opportunity.

00:45:23: You don't even what your target is!

00:45:24: Just knew you got invited.

00:45:25: Yeah

00:45:26: sorry no...I did not know anything.

00:45:28: but then i found out about seven hundred thousand dollars that day and only three hundred fifty-thousand which contributed to their actual lives

00:45:35: in that room

00:45:36: right.

00:45:36: because Well, I couldn't have known.

00:45:40: We put our whole store- That's

00:45:41: a lot of money!

00:45:41: Yeah we put out all the- We had like fifty thousand dollars in alive.

00:45:44: Okay

00:45:44: So which was- Which got a record?

00:45:46: Yeah it was insane.

00:45:47: so

00:45:47: that was still a record.

00:45:49: But the problem is i has set my whole store on flash so people didn't have to come to live To buy their product.

00:45:55: they could just get from the store.

00:45:56: even though I've gotten sales I didn't get it attributed to the lie.

00:46:00: And then this one when I found those competitions and went back home on high I'm like yes I have tiktok records.

00:46:07: And then it's like two weeks later, boom!

00:46:08: Jeffree Star got the same opportunity that I've got.

00:46:11: The same studio and I'm sitting up there watching him is like...and how did he do?

00:46:18: He was like oh well you beat you!

00:46:20: Oh yeah he did like six hundred K five fifty six hundred something like that.

00:46:24: um when i was like but i was studying his life okay i was able to identify what he didn't good from before, what I could do better.

00:46:35: And so I was like, we're gonna get back in this game.

00:46:37: and then that's when I knew they were looking for a million dollar

00:46:40: seller.".

00:46:41: And I was okay with the goal?

00:46:43: Okay my next live...I didn't foresee a million dollars live by myself but just saw me beat Jeffery first!

00:46:51: That was about six hundred out of six fifty.

00:46:59: And so I had planned a live, and it was my next live from that April Live.

00:47:03: My next one is June eighth of twenty-twenty four... ...and i went in thirty minutes before we're about to go live.. ..I get a phone call!

00:47:13: It's from Tiktok & they.

00:47:14: let me know another girl.... I don't know what her name is.

00:47:22: She said she just did seven hundred last

00:47:24: night!!

00:47:25: I was

00:47:26: like, I didn't even know somebody else.

00:47:28: You thought it's just you and Jeffrey?

00:47:29: Me and

00:47:29: Jeffrey!

00:47:30: And now...I'm reading that i am trying to find her or finally get a page.

00:47:34: She speaks Spanish then I don't And I wasn't even knowing what she

00:47:37: did!!

00:47:38: I can not study

00:47:39: it!!

00:47:40: And I was mad at my whole team.

00:47:41: Why y'all tell me this before I go through my

00:47:43: life??

00:47:44: Y'all are just trying to mess with me.

00:47:45: I'm mad because I'm like fuck Because I was like, that came out of the blue because i were prepared to run a show That could rival Jeffree's numbers.

00:47:53: I wasn't prepared for this new person...I wasn't.

00:47:56: But when in here I swear- I got the eye of the tiger!

00:48:00: You were

00:48:01: right!

00:48:02: And so it was about five or four three hours in and I had beat her and him.

00:48:08: Three hours in?

00:48:10: Three and half hours in him Right at his head.

00:48:12: It was like everybody was like keep going.

00:48:15: That was like we doing this today, and I was like oh my god We going for the million.

00:48:18: because I wasn't.

00:48:20: I had no plan to go from a million And I started.

00:48:23: you would have you get up there better at her that I was just in just going right?

00:48:27: and then Five.

00:48:29: it's like right at the five hour mark between four hours thirty minutes five hours.

00:48:33: We hit the million.

00:48:35: so That really showed me then that what I was doing is where it's supposed to

00:48:43: be.

00:48:47: on the call like watching, everybody was so happy watching it in real time.

00:48:55: You

00:48:55: know before I met you i saw that video?

00:48:57: Yeah!

00:48:58: On social media of the team calling you and you didn't

00:49:01: even realize at the moment- Yes because they didn't tell me my numbers.

00:49:04: we had to show them.

00:49:05: That was just keep going Keep going, keep going...I knew when..when I had beat the other two cause he did it.

00:49:12: I was like whew.

00:49:13: that was like.

00:49:14: but keep going.

00:49:15: What

00:49:15: do think what?

00:49:16: Okay, there's a lot to break down here because I want understand about the backing and product.

00:49:20: And what it takes even be able scale that make all of this happen.

00:49:23: but... What do you think was or is about you?

00:49:28: The products they got you at that point?

00:49:33: Whenever i go on live.. I treat life just like im talking to siblings.

00:49:40: i always wish ive had It's familial Its family.

00:49:44: I don't go in there with the intent to sell.

00:49:47: I'd go in here with a tent, tell people about everything that love and me my day or journey... Everything!

00:49:53: And because of our approach we always have an approach live from this type personal place like hey you guys got your product i want u buy it today?

00:50:01: The people who are in the palm of my hand is like family Like..I can feel their love.

00:50:07: It makes me wanna share more be open tell people about a product number one that can be beneficial for them, but also I think the story of it all.

00:50:19: my journey in general was aspirational.

00:50:21: or rooting for that.

00:50:23: And also because you're so real, I've never seen somebody so real selling...I know even tell people like-

00:50:32: People

00:50:32: don't really like this product much and it's like what?

00:50:35: But the fact your willing to do that be honest builds trust.

00:50:39: but its not easy.

00:50:40: It is easy to tell people to be authentic.

00:50:41: Its easier to just be real than yourself.

00:50:46: Was that always natural for you?

00:50:48: Because I think a lot of times people kind get in their head.

00:50:50: It's like, You want to be yourself but now have the thought Of what are people thinking about saying The right thing?

00:50:55: am i gonna make this sale?

00:50:56: So did it just come natural or was something That were able to train?

00:51:02: Even though im not necessarily an extrovert I grew up alone and I grew with my thoughts My ideas And Im very passionate About anything that Im talking about what I happen to be like in the same room.

00:51:17: So, i think that kind of worked as a benefit for me on live so I never struggled with it.

00:51:21: .I have struggled before talking on camera ,i had dreams being like a youtuber and I remember talking infront of my camera.

00:51:29: im like fuck!

00:51:30: And Im crying.

00:51:31: you know its like.

00:51:32: nobody is there but ive never had this problem because people were.. I can see them talking back.

00:51:36: yeah

00:51:36: it feels like they are with their people.

00:51:39: ok I wanna quickly go into almost just some things that I know.

00:51:45: people who are just getting started would love to know.

00:51:48: You are the goat at live selling, you're the staple and standard of it And It will be so interesting for your perspective on a few things.

00:51:56: So The first one is do feel like certain products more set up when in a life-selling environment than others?

00:52:04: If so which product make the most sense?

00:52:07: Okay!

00:52:08: So i felt yes or no?

00:52:11: Yes because There are niche communities that are stronger than others, right?

00:52:16: You know beauty personal care fragrance.

00:52:19: Those are like some top-selling categories.

00:52:21: Yeah you can especially early on Like you could go onto tiktok and those gonna be your first go to anything too like the Beauty Market for women like it's a huge industry

00:52:31: yeah.

00:52:31: But I also see different verticals growing now.

00:52:34: I see fashion coming emerging.

00:52:36: I see I see some of the stronger players or in um in the card game world.

00:52:41: That's a word I don't even understand, electronics!

00:52:44: Like they're emerging now...I feel like people are going to find their most success when it comes to person and product.

00:52:50: if its'a products that you passionate about It is a product where they can infuse who there essence into.

00:52:56: And i feel like the most powerful thing which have on live especially if you don't want to just get lost in the sauce is storytelling and personality.

00:53:05: If you got a product that you love, let's say it's a camera.

00:53:07: but if your able tell somebody about why you loved that camera so much and infuse who your essence into it too then thats gonna be the best product for you.

00:53:17: So I wouldn't say there are categories to go into because here's the thing.

00:53:21: like almost every market that you enter its probably going to saturate right now.

00:53:25: There was this thing called oversaturation where you can disrupt it by figuring out a unique selling angle for whatever we have to offer.

00:53:35: Millions of people sell moisturizers, I got body glaze right?

00:53:39: But what i was able do with Body Glaze is share my story about why I created it as from a founder standpoint but also sharing my stories on problem solution.

00:53:50: and I started at Body Glazes because I struggled with eczema and hated lotions so there were a wide behind in that.

00:53:57: why never had anything?

00:53:59: It always had to do with the problem first, and me trying find my path as an entrepreneur.

00:54:05: Yeah

00:54:05: And reset.

00:54:06: So

00:54:06: okay.

00:54:07: so how much of the success Of canvas beauty brand you think is because of You?

00:54:12: As like face-of-the-brand in this powerhouse storyteller versus The product

00:54:18: I would say it's fifty.

00:54:19: fifty.

00:54:20: i feel Like its fifty percent Me being able To tell people about This product In the best way possible

00:54:26: right yeah.

00:54:27: and it's also me being vulnerable enough to show this process because I'm so in it.

00:54:32: And then, I think is another layer too.

00:54:34: we may be in thirds now again.

00:54:35: Yeah!

00:54:35: Think God just want me here?

00:54:37: Mm-hmm.

00:54:38: But

00:54:39: i feel like what im doing its much bigger than the product and even myself So that part can't quantify or explain.

00:54:49: truly

00:54:54: Nothing makes me more happy right now in this moment than seeing you actually In your dream and then your vision into purpose.

00:55:00: It is so clear.

00:55:01: Yeah, there's nothing like more special on that.

00:55:03: So

00:55:07: yeah I'm so

00:55:09: happy for You Honestly so-so-so Happy for you And that you've taken the leaps of faith That you've done The jumps and yes Your purposes are huge and inspiring so many people.

00:55:19: For someone who Starting out and with everything that you now know, what do think are the most important things for a new entrepreneur?

00:55:28: That wants to start their business scale.

00:55:31: Their business then use.

00:55:32: live selling is like a platform.

00:55:34: I tell anybody Whatever it is on their heart, I feel like God don't give us visions.

00:55:40: He doesn't give a dream.

00:55:41: he Don't Give Us that deeply rooted thing That we don't have the words for if It's not for us.

00:55:46: i just tell everybody you got to start first with Just believing and whatever Is On You For You because that belief will take you further than any plan?

00:55:54: I didn't Have Not One Plan for Camus To Be What It Is Today Just believed that I needed to take the first step.

00:56:01: Yeah, and I tell any entrepreneur if you focus on being able To believe That anything that you can imagine is real You will get there because we won't always know The answers.

00:56:14: my path may not be somebody else's yours May Not Be what you even plan for it to be but If you believe that your now would get you to your end vision How don't matter, just remove the how.

00:56:27: I couldn't

00:56:28: have told somebody after twenty-twenty two that I would lose everything and y'all thought i won life!

00:56:32: You know?

00:56:33: If I

00:56:33: knew there was a part of my journey then it probably wouldn't have went down that road.

00:56:38: So I tell people to have so much faith in the belief that you have surrounding what you feel on the inside.

00:56:45: And if take every step towards that and any decision which make is with that in mind, You gonna get to where your gotta go because thats first up!

00:56:53: You got.

00:56:53: believe it a lot of people had these ideas.

00:56:55: I want do this i wanna do this.

00:56:56: they don't really believe they can.

00:56:57: so when something comes that's not aligned or doesn't feels good how they felt like should be You don't see them no more.

00:57:05: Yeah, you know him from the number because they couldn't withstand adversity Because they never believed in it.

00:57:11: and firstly

00:57:12: there you go.

00:57:13: Okay something very you know actionable that we can leave people with as well.

00:57:19: when you look at Brands and founders that blow up?

00:57:23: You know on let's just say live selling.

00:57:25: but generally take talk shop or Just has a brand online.

00:57:29: When your looking at that versus the ones that don't What are the three things that you think are fundamental and key to a brand actually blowing up?

00:57:38: And let's say I'm live selling.

00:57:40: If your talking founder brands, then you gotta be authentic.

00:57:44: Mm-hmm.

00:57:44: I see a lot of people in this space.

00:57:47: even with my journey... ...I see a lotta' people trying do everything I did That is not authentic to them.

00:57:52: Yeah Right?

00:57:53: Yeah!

00:57:53: I always stay like if you're tryna blowup on TikTok or you tryna go viral Or you trynna beat in live selling and you're the founder of the brand, have a product.

00:58:02: You gotta find what's authentic about you be willing to share that especially if you wanna be the face And figure out whats authentic bout your products.

00:58:11: I used do this thing where i wouldn't look at nobody else Cause i didn't want to be lost on what they was doing.

00:58:17: If i did look ,i would look for what they weren't doin not for what I could replicate.

00:58:22: Ooh, that's a gem right there!

00:58:24: Yeah...I would look and see What didn't she do?

00:58:26: Or what did he do?

00:58:28: because That is the area.

00:58:30: opportunity.

00:58:30: My opportunities are not to go and copy them.

00:58:33: my opportunity lies in The market or moment that is untouched.

00:58:38: So i will tell any founder who wants be face of their brand Figure out what that is and then go down that road, figure out how that resonates with you.

00:58:47: And it can support your mission.

00:58:50: so thats kind of what I say

00:58:52: to people Amazing.

00:58:53: I love it, I appreciate you so much!

00:58:56: We have SO MUCH more we can talk about and we're going to do part two three or four And obviously we are about to have dinner So we'll talk a lot more.

00:59:01: This is just the beginning.

00:59:02: i'm so excited To see the rise The continued rise And im so beyond proud of YOU.

00:59:08: Thank you for the conversation And i know people will be so inspired.

00:59:11: So good!

00:59:14: It's such a good chat.
